These Seiko Astron timepieces honour the new Civic Type R and are the most recent in a long series of Honda and Seiko cooperation.
The limited-edition Seiko Astron timepieces will complement and perhaps even heighten the passion of those super-fans for the upcoming hot hatchback.
The Seiko Astron watches are effectively top-of-the-line, athletic and feature-rich models, much like the Type R itself. These specific Astrons use the Cal. 8B92 movement, which synchronizes time and date with radio time signals rather than GPS as in the most expensive Astrons and supports solar charging (no battery changes). But in essence, these are all the qualities that a Japanese buyer of a high-end watch seeks: outstanding accuracy and a watch that doesn’t require much fussing.
All of this has a price – the combined retail cost of these two pieces is approximately $1,679 at the current exchange rates.
Although there are shops that specialize in importing JDM items that could be able to help prospective purchasers, it currently appears that they are exclusively available in Japan. But this shouldn’t stop us from drooling, right?
