What an unforgettable weekend. I’ve been waiting all year for this, and the Honda Euro Meet 2022 in France did not disappoint.
This was my second time at the event. I first went back in 2018, and that was a truly special year with appearances from Tatsuru Ichishima—the legendary founder of Spoon Sports, a name that’s synonymous with Honda tuning—and even Honda Pro Jason, arguably the most famous Honda vlogger in the world. It set a high bar, but this year was just as memorable.
This time, I was lucky enough to drive my car here, all the way on its own four wheels—a journey of some 5500 km, to be precise. And honestly, it wasn’t in its most perfect, show-ready condition, but that’s what made it feel real. It was a proper road trip, a test of both man and machine, to a place filled with like-minded people, celebrating our shared passion.

The cars: a look back in time
The best part of an event like this is seeing the history of Honda laid out before you. Everywhere I looked, there was another gem. I’m talking about a sea of EK Civics, mint-condition Preludes from every generation, and pristine Integras that made me stop and stare.
Seeing so many clean, ’90s-era Hondas in one place reminded me why I fell in love with these cars in the first place. These weren’t just machines; they were stories, each one a testament to the owner’s dedication. The air was filled with the sound of open exhausts and the unmistakable roar of VTEC engaging. It was pure bliss.
More than a meetup, it’s a family reunion
Honestly, as amazing as the cars were, the people made this event truly special. It was fantastic to meet fellow Honda owners from all over Europe. We all spoke the same language of horsepower, suspension setups, and tuning struggles. I had great conversations with a few French enthusiasts about their local scene. They showed how passionate they are about their cars. It made me feel like I was already part of a new family here. The atmosphere was friendly, welcoming, and full of mutual respect.
This year Honda Euro Meet 2022 had another highlight for the community: Lionel Lucas launched his book, “Road to the Red Zone” at the event. For anyone passionate about motorsport and the story of the NSX, this book is a must-have. You can find out more about it and grab a copy here.
The little details that made it perfect
It’s the little things that stick with you. The subtle modifications on a rare Prelude, a flawlessly restored Integra Type R that was so clean it looked brand new, the smell of gasoline and tire rubber mixed with the excitement in the air. These are the moments that make it more than just a car show. They’re memories of a perfect weekend spent celebrating something we all care deeply about.
My head is still buzzing from the experience. I left the meeting with new friends, some great ideas for my projects, and a renewed sense of pride in the Honda community.
If you love classic Hondas and the culture around them, this is the event you have to attend. I’m already counting down the days until next year.
