fashion CR-Z … by IntersectionMag

A look back at the controversial collaboration between Honda and Intersection Magazine. Featuring Eley Kishimoto interiors and orange tires, unveiled at Galerie Nikki Diana Marquardt.

The roles in the automotive world are usually strictly defined: automakers build, and magazines report. But every so often, the lines blur. This particular collaboration breaks the mold entirely, bringing together Honda France and the cult magazine Intersection for a project that is less about horsepower and more about high concept.

For the uninitiated, Intersection is not your typical car magazine for “gearheads.” It sits at the crossroad of fashion and mobility, usually showcasing vintage Volvos or Nissan Cubes alongside skinny models in editorial spreads. It is visual, hipster, and unapologetically artistic.

Revealed at the Galerie Nikki Diana Marquardt in Paris, this special edition CR-Z is a study in contrasts. The vehicle features a stark, matte beige exterior finish—a nod to military utilitarianism or perhaps architectural minimalism. However, the true visual hook lies in the wheels: orange steel rims wrapped in matching orange tires for the summer configuration, swapped for an all-black setup during winter.

The interior received a complete overhaul by the renowned design duo Eley Kishimoto, likely infusing the cabin with their signature bold prints and graphic textiles, transforming the hybrid coupe into a rolling art installation.

While currently a one-off project designed to provoke conversation rather than sales figures, reports suggest Honda France considered a limited production run. It remains a fascinating example of what happens when a mass-market hybrid is treated as a canvas for Parisian fashion sensibilities.
